Antique Patterson’s Seal Cut Plug tin litho box. This original tin lithographed box is about 6.5 inches wide, 4.5 inches tall, and 5 inches deep. It has a wire fold down bale handle on top. It is lithographed to look like a woven basket. On front of the box is a logo seal which reads “R.A.Patterson Tobacco Co….Richmond, Va……Established 1856…..Full Weight”. Backside of the box has a banner box which reads “Factory No.60, 2nd Dist. Of Va., Notice the manufacturer of this tobacco has complied with the requirements of law. Every person is cautioned under the penalties of Law not to use this package for tobacco again”. This tin is in excellent or better condition, showing only very minor scratches to the surface and a few light dents.
